Financial Resources

For all BBNC Shareholders and descendants who seek it will achieve a post-secondary credential or degree.

  • One must complete and submit this application to apply for federal student aid and to apply for most state and college aid. (This includes the U.S. Department of Interior/Bureau of Indian Affairs Higher Education funding administered by Bristol Bay Native Association or potentially through other tribal organizations near where you reside).

  • The Harvey Samuelsen Scholarship Trust (HSST) offers financial aid to Bristol Bay CDQ residents earning degrees at accredited colleges or universities as full-time students.

  • Provides information and financial assistance to full-time and part-time post-secondary students interested in a two (2) year Associate of Arts (AA)/Associate of Science (AS)/Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree or a four (4) year Bachelor of Arts (BA)/Bachelor of Science (BS) degree at an accredited institution (Graduate students are encouraged to apply as their application will be considered for funding after undergrad students have been funded).

Remember to check out scholarships available in your community (BBNA, BBEDC, village corporations, tribal councils and local businesses, etc.)

Be wary of organizations that charge a fee to submit your application to find you money for school. The help you pay for can be obtained for free from your school or from the U.S. Department of Education.
