Our Mission
To provide support for and encourage BBNC shareholders and descendants to pursue educational opportunities and to promote and preserve the cultural heritage of the Bristol Bay region, its indigenous people, and subsistence way-of-life.
The 2026 Alumni Giving Circle
March 1st-31st
The Bristol Bay Foundation Alumni Circle is an opportunity to bring together individuals who have been recipients of Bristol Bay Foundation education scholarships.
Since its inception in the 1990’s, our scholarship program has supported BBNC shareholders and descendants living in Bristol Bay, throughout Alaska, and in the Lower 48. Now, multiple generations of students from the same families have received support for their education. We invite you to help us bring this campaign full circle, just as our scholarship program has for our Bristol Bay families.
Step into the Alumni Giving Circle with us by contributing a gift of $250 or giving at a level that feels meaningful to you. Your generosity will fuel the expansion of our scholarships and cultural programs, continuing student success and our regional traditions for future generations.
By joining the Alumni Circle, you can acknowledge the transformative power of education in your life and play a vital role in shaping the future of countless students.
As a token of our appreciation, participants will receive a small gift and our gratitude for supporting the next generation of recipients.

Meet Genevieve Chacho.
Educator. BBF alum. Donor.
Genevieve, a Principal at Fairbanks Northstar Borough School District and previous scholarship recipient, believes in the transformative power of education for our region. She sees scholarships as more than financial aid. Scholarships help “develop the next generation of Alaska Native leaders — teachers, health professionals, engineers, administrators, and community advocates — who will return home with skills and knowledge to serve our people.”
A scholarship supports a single student, but that student can serve a whole family, a whole community, and a whole region.

This campaign is one of empowerment and care, where all donations go directly back to our scholarships and cultural heritage programs.

Each donation supports the continued education of student and the cultural heritage of Bristol Bay.
When you donate to the Foundation you support the continued education of BBNC Shareholder and Descendent to students to reach and attain their education and training goals. In each way that you contribute, we thank you for all you do to support students and cultural heritage of Bristol Bay. Contributions to the Foundation are tax deductible.
Participate in Neqa in Bristol Bay!
Neqa in Bristol Bay is our Foundation’s signature fundraiser that we have held annually since 2018.
This event raises funds and awareness of Bristol Bay Foundation while celebrating one of our region’s most cherished resources—salmon. We also utilize this time to bring awareness to Bristol Bay's unique cultural heritage.
Become a Volunteer
Volunteers play a crucial role in the success of the Bristol Bay Foundation. They bring a wide range of skills, expertise, and enthusiasm to help the organization achieve our mission.
We often rely on volunteers to provide essential services, such as fundraising, as a board or committee member, event planning, and community outreach.
Additionally, volunteers can help reduce costs and increase the efficiency of our operations. They are also passionate advocates for our organization and can help spread our message and values throughout our larger Bristol Bay community. Overall, volunteers provide invaluable support to the Bristol Bay Foundation and are an essential part of our success.
